These donuts aren’t like Krispy Kreme but they are great for kids who want a tasty treat in the morning. I have never tried to make donuts before, let alone bake them, and this recipe was actually surprisingly easy.
Ingredients
2 cups of all PURPOSE flour
1/3 cup GRANULATED sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoon VANILLA extract
Before you start, you need a donut baking tray. Here are the directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat the donut pan with cooking spray.
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, granulated and light brown sugar in your mixer or large bowl.
- In another bowl combine the butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture in with the dry ingredients until smooth.
- Place the batter in a piping bag and put in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Snip off the end of the piping bag and fill the donut pan 3/4 the way full. Bake the donuts for 10-15 minutes. Let them cool.
For this recipe you can create any type of frosting, it just depends on what you like. The frosting that I used is just combing evaporated milk with chocolate chips until smooth. I used the stove for this, because the microwave is time consuming.
