I figured the winter season is coming, so why not create a delicious tasty treat! Everyone loves the Starbucks cake pops, but they are so hard to get because they always get sold out. I was able to find a recipe that tastes almost like the Starbucks kind, and very easy.
Ingredients
1 box of fudge brownie mix
1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
12 ounces of white chocolate chip (or REGULAR)
finely crushed candy canes
cake pop or lollipop sticks (about 20)
Making these can be a bit tricky, here are the instructions:
- Make the brownie batter as it says on box. Than add the peppermint extract to the mix. Bake brownies according to the box.
- After the brownies cool, scoop out small amounts.
- Melt the chocolate on the stove. You may start this when you begin your brownie batter.
- Dip each end of the stick into the chocolate and than directly in the center of the brownie. Than place this on a wax sheet of paper, after you are done place brownies in the freezer for about 30 minutes to cool.
- Remelt chocolate if necessary, dip each brownie ball into the chocolate and allow excess to fall off.
- Sprinkle with crushed candy canes, and wait for it to dry. Than Enjoy!
Tips:
- I would suggest when you are scooping out the brownie balls to not scoop from the edges because the crispness will not make smooth edges.
- I would also suggest to take off the top of the brownie because that is usually crispy and will not make smooth edges.
- If you don’t want peppermint on top, than you can use sprinkles or even nuts.
