December is here! Why not create a tasty treat celebrate this month. I love Oreo’s, and making truffles is fun (checkout my video). As soon as I saw these, I knew I had to make them and now I’m going to share it with you.
Ingredients
16 oz. packaged REGULAR oreo cookies
8 oz. packaged cream cheese
1 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
8 oz. melted chocolate candy (white)
crushed candy canes
I was surprised there wasn’t that many ingredients, especially because it’s a truffle. Here is how to make Oreo truffles:
- Crush all the Oreos into crumbs and place in a medium bowl
- Add cream cheese and peppermint extract to the crushed Oreos until it’s well blended
- Place mix in shallow bowl and refrigerate until firm (usually overnight)
- Scoop the mixture into balls
- Dip the Oreo balls into chocolate mixture and place on wax paper
- Sprinkle the crushed candy canes right after you placed the Oreo balls on the wax paper, and let it refrigerate for about an hour
- Enjoy!
This recipe yields about 20-30 truffles, and when you want to store these truffles place in refrigerator. Add about 1/2 to 1 tsp of peppermint extract if you want more of that peppermint flavor.
